DnB Ep 97: SXSW 2017 Bill Harvey’s Elephants in the Room, The Legacy of Miles Davis with Vince Wilburn Jr and App Innovations with FARE and REXI featuring Amy Jordan of the Yes But Why Podcast

The annual South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX is known for many things…most of all Music and Technical innovation. In keeping with that spirit in this episode of the Dudes and Beer host Christopher Jordan begins this epic SXSW 2017 by sitting down co-host Steven Bishop and guest Bill Harvey to discuss his recent move to Nashville, TN as well as the release of his new album made from previously unpublished material called Elephants in the Room and what inspired the creation of this new work. In the second part of the episode Christopher sits down with Vince Wilburn JR, band leader of the Miles Electric Band and nephew of Sir Miles Davis the prodigious American Jazz innovator and legend to discuss the Miles Davis House emerging talent Showcase and how it helps carry on the musical traditions of Miles Davis as well as the recent Grammy winning soundtrack for the movie Miles Ahead and the process of bringing the legend to life on film. In the final part of the episode Christopher is joined by Amy Jordan, host of the Yes But Why podcast to discuss the technological side of SXSW with Gavin Washburn and Aron Lemisch creators of the FARE app as well as Loren Saunders creator of a new iPhone app called REXI that gives you live real-time data about bars and venues in your local area and around the world.
