DnB Ep 112: DnB LIVE From the Marble Falls Adult Soapbox Derby

In this episode of the Dudes and Beer podcast we venture forth to Marble Falls to enjoy the 8th annual Adult Soapbox Derby. Soapbox derbies are an American tradition. Since the 1930’s kids have been building soapbox racers and having fun in their community…well step aside kids, now it’s the grown-ups turn! We get a chance to talk with the organizer of this incredible event Shannon Heep about what inspired the Derby as well as her racing in the event. We are then joined by Sandra Santee Manager of the local Living Love Animal Rescue Boutique, a unique second hand store whose entire profit margin goes to save animals in the local Marble Falls area. Finally we have the opportunity to chat with Grant Dean of the Pirates of 3rd Street racing team who has been working on his racer “Nemesis” for 8 years since the race first began to discuss the fun from a builder and racer’s point of view. Catch all the excitement and drama of the race LIVE from the street as we talk to the organizers of this uniquely awesome event as well as attendees and racers alike as well as getting advice for the challenge of building our very own Dudes and Beer racer for next year’s event. So tune into this awesomely fun day of racing and hijinx LIVE from the Marble Falls Adult Soapbox Derby with the Dudes and Beer podcast!
